Lakbay Klik Kamera Club is inviting you to join as in Bangkok/Siem Reap/Bangkok/ Changmai/ Pai/PanMaPah/ MaeHongSon/ MaeChan/Doi Inthanan/Changmai/ Bangkok Photo Tour and workshop on April 5-19, 2008.

Itinerary

Apr 05 (Friday) - Depart Manila to Bangkok via Cebu Pacific 931, 2205pm-0020am next day arrival. Meals on board.

Apr 06 (Saturday) -Arrive Bangkok 0020 morning. Check-in hotel (rest/sleep) .
Late buffet breakfast, at 8:00am, at 9:00 assemble at the lobby for the tour.
Bangkok City tour, visit the following: Reclining Buddha at Wat Po, Golden Buddha at Wat Trimit, Wat Racthabophit, Wat Benchamabphit
Late afternoon free at leisure.
Overnight Bayoike Suite Hotel.

Apr 07 (Sunday) – -Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
At 9:00am assemble at the lobby for overland trip to Aranyaprathet Boarder (3.5 hours) proceed to Cambodian Immigration and continue your land transfer from Poipet Boarder to Siem Reap City (3.5 hours) arrive Siem Reap around 4pm, check-in Hotel.
Dinner at Tonle Sap Lake Restaurant (buffet dinner) and watch the
Traditional Apsara Dancers. (dinner on pax account USD4.00-buffet) ,

Apr 08 (Monday) – - Breakfast inside the hotel.
Visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Central Angkor
Thom (Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King) visit Victory Gate, Thommanon, Ta Keo (short visit), Ta Prohm,
Sunset at Angkor Wat.

April 11 (Thursday) -Breakfast at the hotel
Assemble at the lobby and ready for another overland trip from Siem Reap to Poipet Boarder (3.5)and Aranyaprathet to Bangkok (3.5 hours travel time). Arrive Bangkok, drop at Bangkok hotel to pick up/drop some stuff at the hotel concierge.
Transfer to Bus terminal for Changmai
Night time travel by Air-conditioned bus to Changmai.
Overnight bus ( 10hrs travel)

April 12 (Friday) – - Early morning arrival at Changmai, proceed to Hotel.
Free day to explore Changmai.

April 13 (Saturday) - Chiang Mai – Pai
0830 Departure from Chiang Mai. We start a 3 hour drive along the mountainous road to Pai. On the way, we will visit Mae Sa elephant camp to watch the elephant training and elephant shows for an hour, visit Wat Pa, a non-tourist temple of brown robed monks where you will learn more about Buddhism with your guide.
Stay overnight at a charming resort in Pai Hotel.

April 14 (Sunday) - Pang Ma Pah – Mae Hong Son
0900 Check out. We take you to visit Lisu hill tribe market situated on the high mountain. Then continue on to visit Lod Cave near a Karen village. Take a 30 minutes walk inside this huge cave, and then leave for Fish Cave where you can feed hundreds of carve-fishes in the river. In the afternoon, visit the Mud-Spa Center where you can take courses of skin treatment with natural mud. Later, visit Wat Pratart Doi Gong Moo, the holiest temple in Mae Hong Son where we can see a beautiful view of the town before sunset. Then check in and overnight at Mae Hong Son hotel.

April 15 (Monday) - Mae Hong Son – Mae Cham
0900 Check out. Start the boat trip along the Pai River for about 40 minutes to visit a Pa Dong (Long Neck Karen) hill tribe. The Pa Dong is famous for their long necks with brass rings as you have seen in National Geographic. From there, we enjoy driving along scenic mountains to Mae Cham, a non-tourist district in the peaceful valley.
Stay overnight in a charming resort in Maesarang Hotel.

Day 16 (Tuesday) - Doi Inthanon- Chiang Mai
0900 Check out. We drive about an hour through the deep green forest in the area of Doi Inthanon National Park. Visit a Hmong hill tribe market, a famous Royal Project for highland agriculture development, the highest waterfall named Siripoom. Then go to Ban Ta Wai Wood Carving Center. You can spend an hour walking around the largest teak furniture & home decorations in northern Thailand before going back to Chiang Mai. Transfer/back to Chiang Mai by land. Overland trip to Bangkok 10hrs. Overnight Bus

April 17 (Thursday) - Early morning arrival in Bangkok,
Check-in at the hotel.
Free day to explore to Bangkok.
Prepare best photo for Photo workshop.

April 18 (Friday) - Wake up early for tour to Damnoen Saduak floating market (0600am), Back to hotel for buffet breakfast.
After breakfast continue tour and visit the following:
Royal Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Buddha, Vimanmek & Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall & Teakwood Mansion, and Wat Arun

April 19 (Saturday) – - Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Free day till departure for Manila via Cebu Pacific 932 at 0110am next day.
Meals on board Cebu Pacific.

Be sure you bring your laptop for review sessions; edit sessions and the Photoshop presentation, as well as a extra memory cards and storage devices.

Equipment
Bring a camera, all your lenses, flash and lightweight tripod. We suggest lenses ranging from 12-24mm to longer lenses 75 – 300mm. Be sure to bring your battery charger and more then one set of rechargeable batteries. Be sure to bring your camera's manual too. Bring an external hard drive besides your laptop to guarantee you have enough space, especially if you are shooting RAW.

Weather & Dress
We are usually very casual on the treks. We will be both shooting mainly outdoors, so bring a variety of clothing you can layer. Dress comfortably, with good walking shoes. Make sure to have rain gear with you at all times to protect your camera bag and camera.

Incidentals
You are responsible to pay for all charges to your room when we check out of your hotels. Incidentals such as room service, drinks, phone calls, business services, laundry, etc. are not included.

  • Learning to See - The Art of Communicating with Light: How to see photos in places where others see nothing.
  • Capturing the Light - Essential Outdoor Photography Techniques
  • Understanding contrast and learning to work with contrast for better outdoor photos. Manipulating Contrast through adding light to the shadows (fill flash, reflectors, light painting techniques etc).
Part Two
  • Manipulating contrast by subtracting light to the highlights - diffusion and filter use.
  • Camera Controls for Creative Vision in Photography - The Effective Use of Aperture and Shutter Speed and How to Know the Best Lens to Use in any Situation.
  • Elements of Composition and Design - Organizing the Picture Space and Pushing the 'Rules'.
  • Creative In-Camera Photography Techniques and Basic photo-editing skills necessary for advanced outdoor photography.
