Living by Water Photo Exhibit
Alcove Perspectives
Filipinas Heritage Library
Ayala Triangle, Makati City
May 12 to 27, 2008
Graphic artist and travel blogger Ferdz Decena, whose award-winning blog Ironwulf is considered the guidebook of many Filipino travelers, is launching his first solo exhibit at the Alcove Perspectives, Filipinas Heritage Library on May 12.
Entitled “Living by Water,”Decena’s exhibit pays homage to bodies water by which age-old civilizations have thrived and grown.
With images of Badjao stilt images in Basilan, the Muslim Stilt Village of Rio Hondo in Zamboanga, the fishermen of Siquijor, the T’Bolis of Lake Sebu, the rugged shores of Itbayat in Batanes, and the tranquil coasts of Iloilo, Decena reveals the living conditions of Filipinos who live by the coast, their culture, and their stories of survival.
A fine arts graduate, Decena worked as a graphic artist and Web designer for three years and pursued photography as a hobby. His work in publishing enabled him to embark on a new career as travel photography, and led him to weave his travel tales on Ironwulf.
